Outfit Parade

Because of the time of year, I’m going over my wardrobe deciding what to keep, what to throw out, what to focus on and what to let drift into the background.  I’m doing the same with my house, but those pictures will come later.  I’ve decided to do an outfit retrospective, and let the chips fall where they may.  Feel free to add your 2 cents!

These were taken at my cousin’s hair show and my brother’s wedding, respectively.  Note how they oddly co-ordinate.  For the hair show I had to wear black, so I picked my lace dress and nine west strappy heels.  At my brother’s wedding, which was in January, I went for a purple satin number with a purple lace cami under it for coverage and a black shrug.  There’s also a fabric hair flower, and you can’t see my black satin platform sandals from Le Chateau, but they’re pretty great.  I believe both of these dresses are from Winners.

Some work (tradeshow) looks I used to sport.  I would honestly not think to wear black pants with a black sweater again, this is somewhat embarassing.  In the right picture (with my pal Nicole who I’ll blame for me posing for the cheesy brochure-holding pics), I’m actually wearing a dress with a sweater on top.  I wore the dress to a wedding originally, and couldn’t not wear it again so I figured I’d put a top on it.  Worked out nicely.

The first picture is me dressed for a day at Niagara Falls.  I was into the ripped jeans for awhile, I still have them but don’t wear them.  I have the jacket and hat too somewhere, I guess I don’t dress down that often anymore.  Flip flops were given away at a garden wedding I helped co-ordinate with my wedding planner friend, Kerry.  The right picture is the night of my engagment, and I have on a sparkly cardigan, thank goodness.  Because under the table are the same ripped jeans.

These were all taken in the past couple of months.  I can see my new love for big belts, retro styled dresses and heels.  And sleeves.  These are all work dresses, and they all make me happy to put on, and even happy to see in pictures because they don’t look like everyone else in my office.  They look like me 🙂

I like shopping at stores with one of a kind items, so I spend a lot of time at Goodwill and Antique Malls. I love Ambrosia salad, and refuse to eat perogies. Aside from my husband, my Mom is my very best friend even though I hated her off and on when I was a teenager. I believe you should know the reasons you do the things you do, and am constantly asking myself why I think, feel and behave the way I do in every situation. I'm probably a narcisist.

This is from one of my older blogs: Trulie Vintage. This morning I woke up and thought “wouldn’t it be fun to re-post one of those old ones to see the difference 5 years makes? And I was right, it IS fun!
